Lisa - Back to Basics layout

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a layout made with Kaisercraft's Back to Basics line, which -- as it says-- is a range of products designed as a basic springboard for all kinds of craft projects. I decided to use my selection as the starting point for a layout.

I chose a piece of chocolate brown cardstock as my base, then layered a sheet of the orange damask paper (using the script side) on top. I added some dimension in the form of texture paste and a Tim Holtz stencil, along with random smears and splodges (such highly technical terms, I know!) of gold Tim Holtz distress stain ink.

Once everything had dried, I added a couple of the 6x4 Captured Moments cards (one "Life is Good", one grid-patterned) and a black and white photo of my husband and I pulling silly faces (our superpower, apparently.) The rest of the layout is made up of bits and pieces from my stash, including kraft tags, washi tape, and random embellishments that tone in with the colours of the Back to Basics paper I used.

A couple of detail shots:

And that's it! Back to Basics is ideal for all kinds of projects, and can be found here.

Thanks for looking, and I will see you again soon. :)

Cheers,
 Lisa

Lisa - Say Aloha layout

Hello! Lisa here, hoping that you're all managing to stay warm and cosy in the wintery weather we've been having lately. It's become standard for me to wear at least two pairs of socks every day, and let's not even get started on the myriad of layers I wear to bed every night! The upside of the icy outside temperatures has been that they're the perfect excuse for staying inside where it's warm, and while I've been doing just that, I also managed to get through all five seasons of Downton Abbey, which I adored. :)

Here's something else to add a little spark of brightness to the winter months: a layout using the cheerful Say Aloha range from Kaisercraft. It features hot pink, lime green and plenty of tropical-flavored images-- perfect for dreaming of an upcoming long, hot summer. :)

For this simple layout, I used a mix of the patterned papers in a basic grid pattern, with the bottom right square used for my single photograph-- whcih I acessorised with some gorgeous bright & tropical flowers. On top of the other three squares, I added some of the Collectables from the range, and finished everything off with the "Hello Sunshine" quote in the centre, along with a sparkly heart.

A closer shot is below:

The bright and breezy Say Aloha collection can be found here.

As always, thanks for looking and I will see you again soon! :)

Cheers,
 Lisa

Christine S. - Secret Garden

Hi there, Christine S. here.  I just received a sad news that one of my daughter's favourite preschool teacher will be leaving the centre soon.  She's found a job closer to home & this is very understandable.  No need for long drives & she gets to see her girls more often, not getting home so late.  She's been such a big & important part & we can only wish all the best for her.  This calls for an extra special thank you card, which I'm sharing with you today.

Thankful Card

Extra special means lots of layers.  I love the prettiness of the Secret Garden collection, with a bit of mixed media thrown in.  I've lightly applied some gesso at the base of the card.  Once dry, I had a good play with my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, & Kaisercraft & Prima stamps.

015

There's a good variety of ribbon & embellishments at Artfull Crafts, & surely there's something there that will tickle your fancy.  In this card I've added a Butterfly Artfull Embellies & some Vandoros Herringbone Ribbon with a pin through it.

017

The dies that I've used here are My Favourite Thing's Die-Namics Swirls die (which you can request from the shop) & Kaisercraft's Doily Die.  Some left over from the specialty paper, stickers & collectable pieces are added.  The front of the card is finished off with some mini paper blooms.

022

Inside I've added a cheeky photo of my (cheeky) daughter for her to keep.  The white doily provides a great writing space inside the card.  Something different, & it really goes well with the Secret Garden papers.
I hope you enjoyed looking at the card with me.  I was very inspired creating it & I hope she'll love it as much as I do.  Remember to appreciate & be thankful to all our wonderful teachers.  They do so much for us & they need to be reminded that often.

Do check out the Secret Garden collection here.  Thanks for dropping by.

Until then,

Christine S.

Lisa - Fiesta layout

Hello! Lisa here, with a cheery layout to share, this time using the lovely Fiesta range from Kaisercraft.

When I first saw these papers with their fabulous riot of colour and design, I was a little stumped, thinking it would be hard to make a coherent layout with so much going on, but to my surprise, this was absolutely delightful to work with, and this layout came together in almost record time. I think in the end the trick was to try not to "match" anything, and to just put it all together and watch the magic happen! (please note that the actual layout isn't actually crooked-- just my photography skills are, in this instance!)

Even though the patterns are all bright and bold on their own, they all have a coherent colour scheme, and this is what makes them work together, I think. Again, I have used the tried and true "grid" design, using four basic "blocks" of paper together on a base of plain white cardstock to work as a whole. I added the photo of my daughter in the centre, with a cluster of embellishments on the bottom right, balanced on the top left with a couple of the Collectables. I also added a few touches of gold around the layout, because the colours of this range match it perfectly.

A detail shot is below:

Such a fun range to work with, and if you'd like to have a little Fiesta fun yourself, you can find the collection here.

Thanks so much for looking, and I will see you with another post very soon - I have some catching up to do, so expect a wee flurry of creations from me in the next few days!

Cheers,
 Lisa :)

Into the Wild by Kaisercraft - Beverley

Hi Bev here again hope your week is going well. Today I am sharing another layout created using the Into The Wild by Kaisercraft - This is one of my favourites of their recent collections.

Once again I have used Black cardstock as my background and matting and added the amazing  Desert diecut from the Into the Wild Collection to the background. It is such an effective piece you don't need a lot more to the layout. Other items from the collection that have been used are the collectables, other paper and the stickers. The chipboard Adventure title has been covered with Vintage photo distress embossing powder. Finishing touches are leaves, a flower , metal leaf, a Prima zip and metal findings.

Thanks for visiting the blog today. Have a great week! see you soon.

One More Fiesta Layout - Melissa

Good morning!  It's Melissa here and today I have the third layout I made with the Kaisercraft Fiesta collection to share with you.  My birthday was in April, and this collection was perfect to scrapbook photos that my 8 year old son took with my DSLR.  I love these photos so much, and it was awesome to get them all onto one layout.

I still had half of this paper left, so I decided to use it on this layout, but in a different way.  I  started with the gorgeous floral paper which I placed across the layout.  Then I randomly cut up the left over die cut paper with my trimmer and tucked it under the floral paper.  Once I machine stitched the floral I then had to make a decision on how to place my photos, and decided to go with a cross.

I love the chevron stickers that came on the sticker sheet.

I made the bow with my Couture Creations die and Cuttlebug.  The title Thickers are from Amy Tangerine.  I love how they pop against the gorgeous bright colours of this collection.

You can purchase the collection in the shop here.

Thanks for looking and stay warm!

A Glamorous Kaisercraft Fiesta Card

Hi Louise with you today and I would like to share a quick post for Sunday.  I have a card I made with papers from the Kaisercraft Fiesta collection.

I layered my image on white cardstock  and cut my Fiesta papers to size and layered them on white cardstock also.  I used a clear word from Heidi swap as my sentiment.  I added some clear accents to the fiesta collectable under which i have adhered a length of wax cord which I tied in a bow.

Here is a close up of my image which is a digital image from The East Wind called Blossom Sensuality  I coloured her up with copic alcohol markers and her dress is coloured with Chameleon RD4

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed my card.

Kaisercraft Secret Garden card

Hi :) Louise here with you and today I am sharing a card for Artfull Crafts today made with the Secret Garden Collection from Kaisercraft.  When I first saw this collection I thought it was lovely but really not my usual colours at all, however once I delved a little deeper I quickly got a lovely warm feeling and could totally picture making lots of projects with it.

I also had a very cute stamp that was begging to be inked up.  The image is "panda with flowers"  from Wild Rose Studio, these images really are the perfect size for cards, big enough to be awesome to colour up and also be able to show off the gorgeous papers and embellishments.

I coloured my image with copic markers and added clear glossy accents to the centres of the flowers and butterflies.  I then added some liquid pearls in dots around the image to add some interest and tie in with the liquid pearls I used on the scalloped border of the card.

Here is a close up of the flowers, ribbon and the liquid pearls.

Here are some of the products I used, you can find them in the Artfull Crafts Shop by clicking on the pictures....

Thanks loads for joining me today and I hope I have provided a little inspiration :)

Into the wild by Kaisercraft - Beverley

Hi Everyone Bev here today sharing a layout created using the Into The Wild by Kaisercraft an awesome new collection great for those zoo and safari pictures.

I started with a black cardstock and also used black cardstock to mat some of the elements on the page to make it pop! On the backing paper I stamped randomly with Prima's Basket stamp.
The Lion has been cut out from the Animilia paper from the collection.  This has amazing sketched animals on it. I have also used bits of the awesome Desert diecut from the Into the Wild Collection.

The great thing about the Kaisercraft collections they have heaps of collection that match each other and with this layout I have used some collectables from the Wanderlust Collection.

Thanks for visiting the blog today. Have a great week and see you soon with another layout created with this collection.

Christine B - Into The Wild Mini Album

Hi there- ChristineB here today with an album I have made using the Kaisercraft Into The Wild Collection......
This is the cover. I used black cardstock and Kraft card to make the pages.  Patterned papers were from the paper pad and for the cover I used 12x12 papers. The Collectables were used to embellish.
The mini album idea came from Ginger at My Sisters Scrapper - here is the link to the tutorial.  Ginger does some amazing mini albums and has videos of them all as well as Tutorials.
This album is made up of 3 pages - with each page having lots of pockets and flaps.
So plenty of places for photos and journalling as well as pockets for tickets and memorabilia you collect to keep!
These photos are of my sister's family on a visit to Orana Park. The above photo is of my Dad at 102years old with his youngest Great Grandson who is 18 months! Love this photo of them both in their 'Buggys' enjoying seeing the animals!!

The back and front covers have pockets in which to place  bits and pieces collected too.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my Wild album, I certainly enjoyed making it. They are nice to have out on a coffee table or in a basket for people to look at.  In fact I am on a bit of a mini album roll at the moment and it is amazing at the variety that are out there. Have another one to show you for next month which I am excited about!

TFL

Happy Creating!

Christine B

Betsy - Kaisercraft's Reveal

Betsy here this morning ladies, to just give you a taste of what will be revealed on Friday night at the Kaiser Reveal, at Artfull Crafts. It is always a fun night and we see all the lovely projects that have been made by the amazing Design Team, with Kaisercraft's new collections that are coming out. And ladies, there are some gorgeous ones on the way - of course just their usual standard!

The collection I have used to make these three cards is called Secret Garden, so delicate and pretty. Would love to know your thoughts on it.

This is a box framed card, 5 1/4" square. The recess is 1/2" deep and I was thrilled with how it turned out.

A simple card here. I have used Spellbinders, Opulent Ovals to cut the frame and the butterfly was cut using Spellbinders, Les Papillions. This is actually my favourite butterfly die. I have also cut fancy corners, but believe it or not, I can't remember what I used. Old age!!

Again a simple card and I have used Spellbinders, Regal Frame to cut the blue.Using Beaded Ovals, again Spellbinders to cut out the sentiment frame. The collectables, in the collection, are well worth using, as they do help in making a quick card.

Things have really hotted up at Artfull Crafts over this past week or two - Liz, Graham and I head off to Australia for our fun times with the Kaiser Team and before hand we have to prepare for the classes etc, as we are flying directly to Auckland for the SENZ expo. Again, everything is sent up on palettes before hand, so there is quite a considerable amount of prior organizing. Oh well, it's all fun, we do enjoy ourselves and it's great to catch up with all our crafting friends and of course make new ones.

Do remember the challenges at Artfull Crafts - there are prizes to be won and we love seeing what you all achieve. That's it ladies, happy crafting and God Bless,

Betsy.

Melissa - Fiesta Layouts

Hello hello it's Melissa here!  I've been going through an ebb in my creative flow lately, so I remedied it by printing off a heap of recent (meaning 2015) photos, and playing with some new Kaisercraft goodies!

Now there is nothing like scrapping new photos with a gorgeous collection like Kaisercraft's new Fiesta.  Fiesta definitely got me scrapping again, and is everything that I love - bright, fun, girly and summery!  Once I got going I made three layouts in two days, which is a lot for me!  I'm sharing two layouts today, and the third one later in the month.

My first layout features my favourite paper, a beautiful big floral.  I really wanted to feature the papers on this one, so went for a strip across the middle.  I cut the hexagon shaped title out of this cut apart sheet.

I'm loving bows at the moment, and made this one with a Couture Creations die set and my Cuttlebug.

A close up of my girls and a large floral diecut from the collection.

My second layout is about celebrating my youngest eating sugar for the first time (a healthy homemade muffin).  I wanted to use this speciality die cut paper, and cut it in half to get more milage out of it.  Once I'd adhered it, I built the rest of my layout to the left of it.

I did a small amount of mixed media with the packaging technique and some Heidi Swapp Colourshine in Seagrass, and some Ranger Dylusions dropped on in bubblegum pink.

My frame is from this cut apart sheet, I just trimmed out the middle and rounded the inside corners by carefully using the largest hole punch on my crop-a-dile.  I layered vellum under the frame to separate all the busyness, then I popped it all up on leftover chipboard (the offcuts from a 12x12 sheet that would normally be thrown out).

You can purchase the collection in the online shop here.

Thanks for looking!

Christine S. - Secret Garden

Hi there, Christine S. here.  How are you today? As promised from last week, I've got another Kaisercraft layout to share with you today.  This time, it features the new & oh so pretty Secret Garden collection.  By the name itself, you know what to expect.  Here's my "Garden of Smiles" layout:
Love These Smiles
I just love the beautiful smiles of the little girls of the family, & their photos really make the page so special.  The background is the Posy paper, & I've cut a thin layer of circle at the edge of the Blossom specialty die cut paper (so gorgeous) to get 2 pieces out of it.
004
The other paper layers from the collection used here are Gate, Prairie, & Overgrown
006
Pearl strips are added to some sides of each framed 4x6 photos.
009
There's lots of pretty & versatile pieces from the Sticker Sheet & Collectables which you can see here.
012
The bouquet of flowers for the cluster are the Blue Calla Lily Flowers,  Peach & White Tulip Paper Flowers, & a small pink paper bloom.  A layout with a garden full of smiles must have a pretty flower cluster. :)
Do check out the Secret Garden collection here.  If you love florals & soft pretty colors, then this is definitely for you.  Thanks so much for dropping by & enjoy your week. :)

Cheers,
